A quick run through of a level I’ve been working on for my 3D Level Design class using Unreal Tournament 3’s World Editor. In the class I was one of the four lead designers in the class in charge of the consistency and overarching design for 3 other students’ levels. This level was the 3rd out of the 4 levels.

To begin creation of the campaign we began by creating Level Design Documents.

After writing the LDD, each person began creating their levels while keeping in contact with the lead designers. The final version of the level does not have many of the things set out in terms of Character interaction as I discovered it is a lot more difficult than once believed to work with Unreal’s editors for characters and animations though I did have cut scenes and a limited form of interaction near the end of the level.
